Georgian Telemedicine Union (GTU)

                            

     On June 1st 2004, 5 p.m. (Georgian time), the first teleconference via Internet was given by Dr. Francisco G. La Rosa, Director of Telepathology Consultants, P.C. and Assistant Professor of the Department of Pathology of the University of Colorado HSC, Denver, Colorado, USA.  From his office in Denver,  Dr. La Rosa used the programs NetMeeting and PowerPoint to reach his Georgian audience.

The teleconference entitled "Telepathology" was oriented to the introduction of the modern tool of telepathology to a selected group of Georgian health care professionals.  The Georgian audience was completed by 10 pathologists (Department of Pathology of Tbilisi State University, Department of Pathology of Central Clinic of Tbilisi State Medical University, Center of Clinical Pathology), morphologists (institute of Experimental Morphology, Institute of Psychiatry), cytologists (Georgian State Medical Academy), oncologists (Center of Oncology, National Association Cancer Control), surgeons (Central Clinic of Tbilisi State Medical University), cardiologists (N1 Clinic of Tbilisi State Medical University, Institute of Cardiology), neurologists (Central Clinic of Tbilisi State Medical University), physicians (Tbilisi State University), gastroenterologists (Tbilisi State Medical University) and a transplantologist (Center of Transplantology).
